In the past three years, I have had the pleasure of working with three absolutely amazing families babysitting a2-year-old, three5-year-olds, and a 10-year-old. I assisted with school pick-ups, after school activities, dinners, and homework help. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the family I most recently worked with no longer needed my help. I still visit both of the previous families I worked with and stay in contact with the parents serving as a fill-in sitter when needed. In addition to these experiences, I have 3 sisters (1-year-old, 13-year-old, and a 14-year-old) who I babysit often. In 2013, I completed the Safe Sitter program with Lifespan Community Health Services. In this program, I learned CPR, basic first-aid care, and behavior management skills. 6 months after hiring Bella as a full time nanny for our 2 boys (ages 2 and 4) and baby girl (6 months), she quit without notice via text message in the middle of the night. My husband and I have not heard from her since despite several attempts to reach out. It was heartbreaking to tell our boys who had formed a bond with her that she would not be returning or saying goodbye. The night we received Bella's text, our weekly automatic payment to her was sent and could not be canceled. We kindly asked that she please transfer back a portion of the payment but did not hear from her. Since then, both my husband and I have reached out on separate occasions, even offering to come up with a payment plan, with no response or payment back from Bella. Bella really was a great nanny for our family so to have her disappear from our lives even after us being so understanding was beyond upsetting. My husband and I felt compelled to leave a review because we would not wish that any parent have such an incredibly upsetting and unprofessional child care experience.
