I started caring for children when I was 12. I spent years babysitting for neighbors with children as young as 6 weeks of age. In high school, I volunteered at the YMCA where I cared for children of all ages. In my junior year of high school, I nannied for a family with 5 children ages 6 to 12. In my senior year, I began taking Early Childhood Education classes at the local vocational school. I attended the University of Maine where I spent a full four years before receiving my BA in Early Childhood Education. While I was in university, I completed a number of classes with a variety of ages, including three different practicums (field work) in full day preschools with children ages 3-5 and one practicum in a pre-k room with children ages 4-5. I also supervised in an infant/toddler playgroup. I've worked with both adults and children with special needs. I am trained in giving medications/insulin. I also have experience with doctor's appointments and implementing service plans.
