I've worked with patients who have both Intellectual and Mental Health disabilities from about the age of 16. My first babysitting gig was with a child with autism and bipolar and I've just gone from there for 11 years. I've worked in group homes, residential facilities, hospitals and private residences so I have a wealth of variable experience. On a personal level my younger brother has similar issues so I grew up with these situations and handling them in a calm positivity focused manner with an emphasis on deescalation through a reduction in stimuli before it gets to a negative place is second nature to me.
