I've worked with both a range of ages and disabilities. My favorite part of being around individuals who have special needs is that they teach me so much about their worlds. They have so much to say, even when they're non verbal. The last 3 years I have been a special ed teacher in a program for children with high needs at a middle school. Before that I worked as an aba therapist, and interned at a preschool. I've been a personal aide for a 23-year-old man with angelmans syndrome, lifting/bathing/feeding as well as taking him into the community. I've worked with a child with seizures and knew the protocol. I teach students with autism and Down syndrome, implementing behavior strategies best for them to learn to adapt to environments when the enviroments wont adapt to them.
