I have worked in home health for seniors and adults providing health care services and also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a hospital for a few years. I have worked for over 10 years as a nanny and during that time I have had many positions with a variety of clients, including one that had cerebral palsy and was in a wheel chair. I would attend to him and his siblings after school. I was responsible for getting him in the house, off of the bus, into the family van (in his wheel chair) feed him, change his disposable briefs, bathe him, and feed him, as well as give him medication. His siblings also had a rare physical disorder that caused them not to sweat so I had to make sure that they stayed hydrated at all times and had personal misters to mist them with, and apply moisturizer while I was there. I think my experience as a nanny and as a nursing assistant are great qualifications to work with special needs. I am very patient, kind, and willing to learn anything I would need to know.
