About Hannah

My name is Hannah, I like art, reading, and of course kids! I focus on three things when I'm working with children. Teaching- I love to teach impromptu lessons. A walk in the park can become a game in learning the names of trees or bugs. I'm a big fan of STEAM topics, but I also like to research the kid's interest so I can teach them more about it. Imagination- The best way to make 'boring' things fun. Is the kid refusing to get dressed for the day? Well they've got to put on their disguise or else they can't become a super spy! Patience- When things get chaotic, I stop, take a breath, and list what needs to get done. It helps my mind reset. Likewise I like to teach kids how to deal with big emotions, using techniques like 'I feel' statements or box breathing. I try to set examples so that they can develop their own emotional tool kit.
