I do not strictly have any childcare background. I have however been sitting for friends and family since I was a teenager. When I was in school I also volunteered to tutor and mentor children with learning disabilities. I found it incredibly rewarding. while I did not continue with it as a career path, I feel that it was one of the most important things I've ever done. I also spent some time at the YMCA as a manager, and part of that role included coordination and participation with the childcare department. I am also an artist and a professional chef. These are two skills that I love to share with children and those with learning disabilities. They build cognitive function and confidence. I am great with children, because in many ways I'm just a giant one myself (but a responsible one at that.)
