About Grace

I live for improving the quality of life of my clients. I started out doing hospice volunteering in my free time which evolved into me becoming a full time personal aide for 6 years for a woman with ALS. She was completely dependent on others to help her function on a day to day basis. Working for her was very rewarding because she was so filled with joy in spite of her circumstances. I pureed and prepared food for her, did stretches with her, assisted her with showering, helped her with toileting and got her ready for the day ahead. I also made phone calls for her, helped her write letters to her friends and learned to decipher what she was saying though she had a speech impediment. She was also able to communicate using special software and a hi tech mouse on her computer. I ran errands for her and took her to her appointments and occasionally got her ready for bedtime and worked overnight with her as well which was fun because we would stay up late watching television.
