About Esther

I'm a certified substitute teacher and sub for kids of all ages. I've worked mostly with k-5th but I'm certified k-12. I work in classrooms of up to 30 kids at one time with at least one special needs child in every class. I know how to manage behavior while still being kind and gentle. I've had children throw chairs across the room, I've had children throw things at me or hit me and in all instances I de-escalated the situation without someone else having to intervene. I make compassion and patience the cornerstone of working with children. I don't believe in corporate punishment, instead I do redirection and gentle correction. I know how to have fun and make children smile. Because at the end of the day I want to help these kids become better and happier people. I want to be a safe space and someone they can rely on.
