About Erika

Hello caregivers and parents! I am a filmmaker/photographer passionate about education and guiding youth to develop as artists and humans. I have 13+ years of experience in the film industry and 8+ years of teaching experience. I have a BFA in Film & TV and an MA in Art, Education, & Community Practice from NYU. I have taught cinematography and film production at NYU, Five Towns College, and the non-profit program Alto Studio Tuscany. I've worked with students on the spectrum and with mental health disorders. I offer creative development and hands-on technical experiential learning in fundamental photography and filmmaking from pre-visualization to production to editing. As age appropriate, I help students find meaning and connection through their art by guiding them through big questions like "Why do you want to be a filmmaker?" and "What does it mean to be an artist?" I look forward to working with you to offer a dynamic learning experience for your child to expand creatively.
