Most of my experience tutoring and babysitting has been working worth my neighbor's developmentally disabled and mostly nonverbal teenage son. I've been working with him for two and a half years over the summer and after school. We work on reading, writing, vocabulary, counting, basic math and life skills. I have a lot of experience adapting and developing activities and teaching methods to fit his abilities, as well as working with his communication barriers and keeping his attention. I would love to work on the weekends with another special needs child or child with ADHD or any kid who needs help with homework or academic skills. I also have what must now be hundreds of hours of babysitting under my belt and I would be available to babysit evenings or weekends. I'd love to do light meal prep, help children with their chores and participate in any indoor activity they enjoy - toys, games, tv, arts and crafts, reading, etc. I also love pets of all kinds!
