I have always had a passion for serving others, particularly those with special needs. Currently, I am working as a caregiver for a brain and spinal rehabilitation agency, working with the paraplegic and quadriplegic. I work in their homes assisting them in their activities of daily life. This summer, I worked through community mental health as a caregiver for a child with cerebral palsy. He requires assistance in daily activities which include bathing, eating, and using the restroom. I was responsible for implementing his behavioral, occupational, and physical therapy activities on a regular basis. As a graduate from Spring Arbor University, with a degree in biology health and psychology, this position s focus on the natural sciences excites me. While a student, I worked in the classroom as a teacher s assistant for anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, and genetics. I led study sessions and mentored students who required additional assistance. I also embraced my animal-loving side.
