Hi there! I have two Australian Shepard (age 6 and 2). Our apartment has a dog park 10 min walk down the street, a doggie spa for bathing if needed so your pup would never come home muddy, and a inclosed potty area if that's an area of concern. We do have a cat as well, she has a gated room to stay in to play with other cats (if needed) but also to keep kitty's safe from dogs rambunctious behavior.
