Experienced nanny, fluent in American Sign Language. Completed course work in Early Childhood Development. Employed as a Sign Language Interpreter for over 15 years. I have experience working with individuals using all different communication styles from aural/oral to ASL. Knowledge of cochlear implants and experience working with children who have implants. Philosophy of communication with children and families who live with hearing loss: provide a language rich stimulating environment using any and all means to communicate. Speaking, signing, reading, pictures and hands on experiences to foster development. I possess First Aid and CPR certifications and have experience as well with children who have medical needs. I have been employed as a nanny for two different families. One job began with a family who's son was 2 months old. This was a day-time hourly position. The second family had two sons, the older was seven when I began the job, and the baby was 2 months old. This was a live in position. I worked for both families for over a year. It is so amazing to be part of watching a baby become a little person with a unique personality.
