About Disi

My passion for working with children began when I worked for an early intervention center, teaching and caring for autistic children between the ages of 2-3 years. I fell in love with making a difference in their lives as well as the lives of their families. It was such an experience that I applied to graduate school for Early Childhood Special Ed and General Ed several months later. I am currently a kindergarten teacher for the NYC Department of Education and I have been teaching for four years. Because of my educational background and the experiences I have gained as a professional, I am able to incorporate both play and teaching experiences in my interactions with all children. I am passionate about what I do because at the end of the day, knowing that I have made a difference in my students' lives educationally and emotionally is incredibly empowering and gratifying.
