As an experienced Special Education Teacher of almost 20 years, I have developed a passion and personal commitment to helping my students succeed. In my most recent teaching position I developed highly effective, diversified lesson plans aligned with the Common Core Standards, motivational exercises and performance assessments. I have experience with both verbal and non-verbal students as well as students with speech and language delays, including the use of a variety of augmentative devices, as well as with visually and hearing impaired students. I have experience administering the New York State Alternative Assessment exams. I have received positive feedback from parents and fellow educators alike for my abilities in the classroom. My teaching style demonstrates dedication in fostering a positive learning environment to all of my students and maximizing individual student performance.
