About Dawn

I am a mother of 20-year-old twin boys. I have a master's degree in Counselor Education and a bachelor's degree in Psychology. I worked as a middle school guidance counselor for 8 years in NY. Prior to that, I counseled and cared for mentally disabled adults. In 2007, I resigned from my position as a guidance counselor due to my husbands career change, moving us from NY to NC. In more recent years, I had the pleasure of being a nanny for two wonderful families. I've always had a love for children and truly enjoy being able to work with them. I see each moment as an opportunity to teach through our own actions. It is a top priority for me to be a positive role model, as I recognize that children learn things in life by observing people as they grow. I am patient, caring, dependable, trustworthy, encouraging, attentive, active and playful. I am committed to making a difference in the lives of the children in my care.
