I am a junior studying Neurosciences with hopes of attending medical school to become a pediatric neurologist. I love learning about the brain, but the coolest part about studying Neurosciences is when you see the medical conditions we learn about in class manifest in daily life. This is where my summer job comes into play. Over this summer, I started taking care of a globally delayed 4-year-old girl. She is so fun, and I have never seen anyone love life the way she does. It is refreshing to work with someone who does not take the little things in life for granted, and she always has a smile on her face even though the cards she was dealt aren't exactly fair. My daily work with her includes physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, meal prep, medication administration, hygiene, laundry and pretty much everything you can think of. I have taken classes in first aid and CPR, and I can also speak American Sign Language.
