I have earned my Bachelors degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology and am currently pursuing a graduate degree in Elementary School Counseling. I have worked in the Special Education field for 4 years, where my experience varies quite extensively. I began my career as a Therapeutic Support Staff, working with children/adolescents ranging from ages 2-16, in the home, school, and community. As a TSS, I have worked with Autism, ADHD, ODD, and various learning disabilities. In the school setting, I worked as a Behavioral Technician in Hershey, PA, and a 1:1 Assistant Teacher in Rockville, MD. As an Elementary and High School Assistant Teacher, I have worked on a variety of goals. In Hershey, PA, instruction varied between academic, vocational, and self-care. In Rockville, PA, we focus mainly on vocational skills and self-care. I teach my students proper compliance, job skills, and how to assess personal hygiene. We want each student to lead healthy and independent lives. I love the moment when I witness such independence and realize that each teaching opportunity is better preparing them for anything life may bring their way. These children never cease to amaze me.
