About Courtney

It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Courtney as she pursues her future. As the director of the camp for girls, an private overnight summer camp where Courtney has spent multiple summers since 2004, I have had the unique opportunity to see Courtney grow into the confident, dynamic young woman she is today. Beginning as a 12-year-old camper in 2004 through completing her fourth summer as a counselor in 2014, Courtney has been a valued member of our camp community. She actively pursues her interests, shows maturity in peer group relationships and maintains a positive attitude as she confronts personal challenges. You will find Courtney to be a responsible, personable and levelheaded young adult who not only excels academically but also in a variety of non-academic areas. She prides herself in her organizational skills! I know her to be a talented artist, photographer, writer and certified Lifeguard. Courtney has had many leadership experiences as a camper and counselor including organizing and teaching small groups in crafts and games as well as helping to plan and implement large group games for children ages 7 to 14. She most recently worked as assistant to the director taking the camp photos, producing camp newsletters and arts & crafts activity programing for the 6 week summer as well as utilizing her life guarding skills at camper swim periods. All and all, Courtney showed the steady, enthusiastic attitude required in a variety or situations She followed established safety practices appropriate in every situation she undertook. Courtney is patient and persistent even in the most challenging situations. She regularly shows her ability to think for herself all the while maintaining an easy rapport with those around her. Courtney has always been eager to contribute as an enthusiastic member of a team as well. She consistently demonstrated these abilities as a live in cabin counselor for a group of 8-10 middle school age girls all 4 summers she worked at my camp. Courtney was responsible for the girls physical and emotional well being for a period of 6 weeks with one other staff member. Courtney is very creative and has shown a great deal of imagination and spirit in her varied roles at camp be it as a young teen or young adult. I recommend her with no reservation. She is a person with high integrity and a sincere desire for a job well done.
