About Colleen

Hello there! I started working with kids during college. I studied early childhood education at Temple University. I then taught in the K-2 world at a charter school in Philadelphia for three years. I realized though that what I really enjoyed was one-on-one care and that the classroom was a bit too overstimulating for me. I then nannied on and off for about 8 years, almost exclusively for babies between the ages of 2 months- 1 year. During that time I also received a masters in acupuncture. It's been a couple years now since I nannied and I'm currently looking to babysit to pick up a little extra work. I'd describe my personality as considerate, empathetic, and responsible. Some strengths of mine include patience, curiosity, and kindness. I like working with kids because there is an aliveness to them. A desire for play and excitement and usually children are also deeply honest with what they observe and what they think.
