I started working with autistic children 6 years ago. And although tutoring and homework help are not the main focus of my role as a RBT, we do often find ourselves in that role. I have independently tutored elementary age children. After Covid, everyone needed more help. I also have younger siblings and I am the only one in their lives who can and does help them with school. Growing up with a single mother, I hardly ever had help in school. Now my siblings have someone who knows calculus and physics to help them and that fills me with pride and happiness. I love teaching kids how to learn and how to grow to love it.
