Hi there! I just graduated from Chico State in May with my bachelors in public health and certificate in gerontology and now I'm starting my second bachelors and nursing at William Jessup. For the past two years, I have been working with those who have special needs and it has really open my eyes. I had a G-tube for the first 5 years of my life so I'm quite familiar with all of that. For a little less than a year and a half I worked at a memory care facility where most of the residents had dementia or Alzheimer's, and had different levels of care. I know how to check someone's blood sugar, and emptying catheter bags. Over the summer I worked at a camp for those with special needs. Some of the disabilities that I worked with were cerebral palsy, down syndrome, ADHD, seizures, autism, and cognitive and developmental delays.
