About Cathy

I provided tutoring and after school care about 15 years ago when my children were in school. I also offered after school art classes for students who were in 4th-7th grades. My experience is working with kindergarten through seventh grade. I believe in multi-modal educational experiences as this ensures any student the ability to receive, process and better retain the information presented to them. I also assess students for modality strengths, which improves self-confidence as they increase their strengths and build upon their weaker modalities (visual, auditory, Kinesthetic). I have materials for improving reading comprehension, math skills, spelling, and science. My experience with ADHD students has given me a unique insight to work with students who have fallen behind as well as those who are gifted and struggling to find the relevance in what they're learning. Children need to make a connection between what they're learning and real life.
