I am a very compassionate person. I have been a companion, house sitter, and care giver to seniors who were very healthy; disabled; handicap; and lonely; who needed someone who was able to identify with their needs and provide sufficient care. I tend to the needs of the senior and I absolutely love to engage in conversation, shopping, and reading with them. I have also played checkers, tic tac toe, and cards with seniors. I have helped with light house-work, laundry, applied medication, toiletries and bathing. The different levels of companionship towards seniors has led me to know that compassionate caring for them is an extremely important part of their lives. Carolyn worked with me for several years at a school as my secretary. I can't say enough about her personal and professional qualities. She was entirely reliable, hard-working, a quick learner, attuned to my peculiar ways of wanting things done, a good "finisher" (jobs got done, one way or another), punctual, clear-eyed, always pleasant, etc. My family and Carolyn's became good friends, and I had a chance to see Carolyn in all sorts of out-of-work situations. She is an enormously compassionate and caring person, deeply religious, and very other-regarding. Her children were respectful, intelligent, and cheery. I can well imagine Carolyn performing any kind of care, for children, for seniors, for persons who can't leave the house.
