About Carissa
A little about me: I am a momma bear, which is where my patience, love, and understanding traits kick in. I've been a caregiver and babysat all ages including special needs children. Growing up with my cousin T, I knew she needed extra attention and affirmation. T has Prader Willi Syndrome. From low muscle tone, eating disorders, temper tantrums, fixation etc children and adults with special needs can be challenging. But being around her I was blessed with so much joy and appreciation for the little things in life. Because of her I was inspired and found one of my passions... working with children and adults with special needs. During my time in CA, I volunteered at RAD Camp for 4 years, which is a volunteer run non-profit organization for children and adults with developmental disabilities. From hanging out and creating memories to helping my adult camper with showers, food, and other necessities, I am fit for the job! I am currently a stay-at-home wife and love cooking!
