I have a valid teaching credential and have been teaching professionally for about three years now, but I actually began tutoring in high school. My tutoring experience continued tutoring throughout college and I now work as a full time Advisor and Math Teacher and Family Partnership Charter School. One tutoring skill I pride myself on is being able to meet students at their level of understanding. Many math teachers, I feel, will think a topic is easy or routine for them and rush through it without taking into account how overwhelming and complex it might be for someone just learning it. For this reason, I think it is crucial to take everything step-by-step and meet students where they are. Math builds upon itself so it's important to make sure every stepping stone is in place. Although math is my strong suit, I did take AP Chemistry in high school and did very well, as well as Physics in both high school and college and received outstanding grades.
