For a year and a half, I worked as a nanny caring for a baby boy with a rare genetic disorder called Costello Syndrome. While caring for him, I learned how to properly care for a gastrointestinal tube and how to execute physical/occupational therapy exercises. Just before starting with that family, I worked for a Children's Services where I was a summer camp counselor to children ages 7-15 years. There, I gained experience in helping physically and intellectually disabled children bathe, use the bathroom, and participate in daily activities.
