I worked for a company that managed group homes that housed 4 or less people, in my situation it was 4 individuals of both genders. My description of duty was to care for each individual all with both intellectual and developmental disabilities. I cooked, cleaned, assisted dressing/to the restroom/feeding, and passed medications at designated times. I took them on outings such as the park, the zoo, the bowling alley, shopping, and much more. I am certified in both First Aid and CPR. I am passionate about caring for those with intellectual and developmental disability because when I get to work with these individuals and I see how much they can accomplish with just a little bit of help, it makes me feel proud that I am aloud to be a part of that.
