I first began to care of those who have special needs my freshman year in high school when I took a unified P. E class where I would help kids with disabilities participate in sports, and also a peer mentoring class where I helped the students with disabilities with their school work. After working with those kids for four years I have gained many positive relationships from them, if it wasn't for them I would not be the person who I am today. I graduate high school on May 22, 2014 and I am going to college in August to be a special needs teacher. I am very active in the special needs community by helping my high schools unified basketball team and also by taking the kids on outings such as to the movies and bowling. I am a very patient and non judgmental person. It does not take a special kind of person to care for a child with special needs, a child with special needs will inspire you to be a special kind of person.
