About Bethany

I like tutoring because I enjoy connecting with students through math and through their interests. I believe learning comes through in safe, comfortable spaces. I want to create those spaces and have fun along the way! I started tutoring when I was in college in 2018. I tutored mathematics and writing related classes. After graduating with my Bachelor's in Applied Mathematics, I earned my Master's in Secondary Mathematics Education. I taught high school mathematics in the Pittsburgh Public School District for the past 3 years. Deciding to leave Pittsburgh, I have moved to LA to continue my career in teaching through all forms. My skills include 1. Differentiation in one-on-one support. Students have all different interests and learning methods. Using these can help me better connect them to what they're learning. 2. Using technology to better understand mathematical concepts. I have training in many programs such as Excel, Desmos, IXL, ALEKS. 3. Making learning fun!
