About Benjamin

I am 24 years old and right out of college with a political science degree and a focus in linguistics as well. Unfortunately, I did not know I wanted to pursue education until later in my college career so I do not have as many qualifications as others, but I am currently working on getting experience to become a certified teacher in PA as well as a reading specialist. I have always loved working with kids whether it was a teacher's assistant for my mom in Sunday school or coaching baseball to inner-city kids in D. C. where I grew up- all without wanting a paycheck, knowing I was receiving much more than that. I struggled with ADHD and ADD growing up and I remember the struggles of not finding school work particularly thrilling or engaging either but I believe with someone like me who understands those struggles, it will be much easier to connect with other kids who need to learn but find it difficult to get engaged. I love reading and writing but also care deeply about history.
