April is an absolutely amazing teacher a wonderful friend to our family! She taught our son for over one year before we moved out of state. She has robust experience as a former teacher, but she was also very adaptable to our use of an online curriculum. Our son has some learning difficulties, but April was able to very patiently navigate through and manage them with patience, kindness and wisdom. She developed a bond with our son and her understanding and relationship with him was key. She incorporated techniques such as tai chi and other outdoor activities to help him focus. She took him on field trips and reward him with trips to eat lunch or get ice cream. Her ability to remove the obstacles to our son's learning allowed him to learn effectively despite the shorter school day, and she was also a good friend to him, which helped to fill the social void during school COVID restrictions. Under her care and instruction, our son flourished beyond our expectations.
