Worked for 3. 5 years helping with a 93-year-old retiree who suffered from multiple strokes and early onsite dementia and Alzheimer's. My duties included grocery shopping, taking to doctor appointments, outings with family and friends. I also did light housekeeping, hygiene care, prepared meals and was a constant companion. Worked for a family in the area helping an elderly lady who was in her 80's for 2 years. She was recovering from hip surgery. I took her to doctor appointments, physical therapy, grocery shopping and I helped her around the house. Overtime she developed dementia and cancer, which caused mini strokes. My duties for her increased due to her additional medial needs. This included helping with feeding her, showering and getting her dressed. Took to her medical appointments, focused on physical activities, mental agility (puzzles and other enrichment), managed medication. While in hospice and bed bound worked with hospice care team to manage her needs.
