I have 35 years of experience in nursing. I have worked in nursing homes, hospitals and home care. I worked in a hospital on the Ortho/Surgical floor/ day surgery. My duties included charting, I/O, blood sugar monitoring, traction set up. Pre-op and post op care, taking out IVs, setting up IV tubing, removing Foley catheters, taking out g-tubes, dressing changes, blood draws, binders bandages, slings, and immobilizers. When I did home care my duties included blood sugar testing, monitoring with insulin, medication reminders, feeding, Breathing treatments, O2, g-tube care: feeding and medication, trach care, colostomy bag, c/bi pap, companionship, bathing, dressing, reading, activities, lifting, transfers, shopping, meal prep, driving, emotional support, and light housekeeping. I have experience with dementia, Alzheimer's.
