Ever since 2010 I have volunteered either one or two weeks every summer to work one-on-one with someone who has a disability. At the organization that I volunteer with, I spend the entire day with someone one-on-one from 8 in the morning until 9 at night, so I have experience with almost everything except bathing and other hygienic needs. None of the people that I have helped needed help eating, but I have watched countless people feed others. I have worked with people who have fetal alcohol syndrome, ADHD, Down syndrome, Asperger's, and autism. I know numerous people that are affected by all kinds of disabilities, so it is something that I am very familiar and comfortable with.

I highly recommend Angela for any position she applies for with Care.com! For several years, she's been a volunteer for our organization, Joni and Friends. She's worked with many families and individuals affected by disability. Her work ethic is strong, she's dependable, creative, a leader, flexible, and also gentle with those under her care. I would trust Angela with all 5 of my children! She will be an amazing care provider.
