About Andrea

I am currently a middle school special education teacher for DC public schools. I have taught for eight years from first grade to eighth grade in all subject areas. I have my undergraduate degree in special education and my master degree in curriculum planning and reading. I work closely with students and staff to make sure students are working towards mastery and understanding in all subject areas. I have tutoring after school for students who need extra help. I understand that children don't always learn the same way and make my lessons hands on and engaging. My teaching experience helps me be a great tutor since I understand the common core standards and the foundational skills children need to be successful in school. I have the summer off and have a flexible schedule.
