I am open to doing child care, special needs care, senior care or housekeeping. I am a mother to a 14-year-old son with severe autism. He is nonverbal and I have learned some sign language, ABA therapy and many positive methods to apply behavior modification. I have also worked as a special education paraprofessional with children ages 3-12. I have experience with autism, Down syndrome, developmental delays, seizure disorders, anxiety disorder, ADD and ADHD as well as cerebral palsy. I have also worked in a group home with adults ranging from ages 19-34 who had developmental disability, seizure disorder, cerebral palsy and autism. I am passionate about this work because I know the importance of finding a caring, patient individual to work with your loved ones as I have striven to find such people to work with my own son. He has taught me so much and given me great patience. I went to college for child development and paraprofessional. I love working with people and helping them reach their full potential. There is nothing more rewarding them seeing someone reach a goal and knowing you had something to do with it! I also am a certified nursing assistant and have worked in a nursing home doing every personal care you can imagine. I left the nursing home I was working for mainly because I was so disappointed with the level or care they were providing the residents, and the lack of staffing. I truly enjoyed the residents though. I am a very clean person who keeps a very clean home and in my younger years I worked as a head housekeeper at a hotel for several years. I believe in natural products and organic foods however I will work in compliance with your families wishes. I grew up an army brat and have lived all over the US and Europe and I believe that has made me more diverse and open minded. I hope to find a great fit somewhere! People never believe my age but I am about to turn 41 however I have plenty of energy for kids or cleaning! I should add that I am comfortable with most pets but highly allergic to cats and some shedding dogs. I do have 2 non-shedding dogs myself that I am fine with.
