I have been a caregiver to patients of all ages, disabilities, and illnesses for 3 years. Being a caregiver requires a lot of compassion, patience, and persistence. A day in my shoes as a caregiver I help assist patients with daily life activities, such as; meal preparation, ambulation, bath assistance, personal hygiene, housekeeping, transportation, recording intake and output, dressing assistance, vitals, and toileting. Growing up around my uncle that has special needs has had such a big impact on my life, you really look at things different, on another level, you start to get a better understanding of life when you have someone with special needs. it takes a certain kind of person to really understand and connect with a person with special needs. I am passionate about what I do because it has been such a compelling emotion over the years to help others that often feel misunderstood, scared, different, anxious, etc. To be able to turn that around and see happiness, security, and comfort is just incredible!
