I have been working with children since my first job at age 16. I was later employed as an after-school program coordinator for under privileged youth. I've taken several courses in Early Childhood Education, and have operated my own in-home daycare. In 2011, I was offered a position in a residential facility as an Qualified Mental/Behavioral Health Specialist. It was then that I learned my passion. I have worked with children diagnosed with various mental illness such as Oppositional Defiance, Bipolar, ADHD, etc. I transferred to the school age department, where I had a classroom of 9-11 children. Daily, I would provide 2, 60 min therapeutic groups on topics of how to handle emotions properly, and use effective coping skills when needed. I really enjoyed the most working with autistic children. They are really great kids!!!
