About Alexandra

Hi, my name is Alex! I graduated from the University of Maryland with my PhD in biochemistry in the Spring of 2022 and before that I attended Arizona State University and earned a BS in biochemistry there as well. I am currently working as a researcher but I have found that I miss the experience of being able to help students understand subjects I am passionate about! I love learning new things - and to be able to help someone else do the same is very rewarding. I have several years of experience in tutoring or classroom instruction in math, biology, chemistry (general and organic), and biochemistry. I have worked in a tutoring center, as a private tutor, and, during my time in graduate school, as a teaching assistant. Throughout these experiences, I have been able to explore many different approaches in my tutoring and can therefore adapt my instruction to each individual student depending on their preferences and goals.
