My brother has severe cerebral palsy; so as a child I was exposed to nurturing and babysitting skills from day one. I changed his diapers throughout the day, bathed him, put him on and off the school bus, and maintained a strict schedule of medication and feeding. I carried these same skills with a family of 3 kids, traveling to Ireland with them, assisting the mom with her kiddos. Through college, I cared for 2 boys after school, weekends, and summers. I assisted with homework, preparing dinner, and bedtime. We played lots of games, outdoor adventures, and extreme fort building! I got the pleasure of continuing to watch them grow after graduating, watching them on date nights and weekends. '16-'19 I was a 3rd grade ELA teacher in Arizona. Last summer, I moved to Southern Pines where I currently am a 4th grade teacher in Lee County. Distance learning was heartbreaking and I miss my kiddos so much! I'm hoping to find a family that will welcome me into their home for the summer.
