I have spent two full summers and one school year supervising and assisting children while working for the YMCA daycare. Due to COVID-19, I was responsible for watching (up to) nine children for six hours out of the day so, I am more than capable of handling more than one child at a time. My duties as a day camp supervisor included creating a safe and fun environment where the children could flourish. I was tasked with creating weekly lesson plans to keep the children engaged and educated during their time off from school. Another duty of mine was to keep the classroom in pristine condition, which meant cleaning toys and areas where the children played several times a day. This past semester I was a part of Jumpstart, a program where I was able to enter a classroom two times a week to provide a reading lesson (paired with activities) to kindergartners. I am certified in CPR and First Aid and also have several different child safety clearances that can be provided upon request.
