Hello! I am an upcoming graduate from the University of Michigan School of Social Work. My social work focus is the welfare of children and families which has provided me with ample coursework on child development. I have both personal and professional experience caring for children. I come from a large family with 5 nieces and nephews, as well as a younger brother, that I have provided care for. I have worked at an educational non-profit where I provided support for children in grades K-12 as well as child-care for a local women's group. I have experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. I am willing to help children with academic goals, develop social emotional learning skills and offer assistance with housework when needed.

I am an Ann Arbor native finishing my studies in Environmental Justice, Inter-Group Relations and Art. When I'm not working or in school, I like to walk in the woods, read and write, make art, and do community organizing. I have lots of experience working with kids as a babysitter, camp counselor, and after-school teacher specializing in STEM and Lego Robotics. I love spending time with kids, especially smart and curious ones. Children are specialists in learning and playing, skills most adults need to practice more. I would be happy to learn and play with your children, and ensure they eat good food and get good sleep. Happy also to help with some light housework, when the kids are appropriately occupied.

Your student is a bright, creative and fun first grader who needs in-person enrichment tutoring in math. He LOVES math and logic and has strong interest and aptitude for them. He is bored and under-stimulated at school, and they cannot provide the differentiated learning he needs. It would also be great to do some reading and writing / spelling practice, if possible. (Bonus if you can help him with Spanish!) He loves to learn using manipulatives, doing projects, and figuring out problems based on his interests in things like storytelling, science and sports. He likes using a variety of materials. He likes to have space to do things independently and to try again with guidance if he can't get it the first time.
