About the job

Seeking experienced tutor who is excited about teaching & can make learning fun & accessible. Math skills include: addition facts, composing, decomposing, multiplication facts, division and fractions. The 6-year-old and 8-year-old students have been in Montessori and are both very inquisitive. They need dedicated time this summer for extra practice (specifically guided practice) to give them a jump start for the fall semester. The students typically like to learn in 5 steps: (1) explanation, (2) demonstration, (3) guided practice, (4) independent practice, (5) review and/or redirection. The explanation of concepts can come in a variety of forms including verbal explanation coupled with written demo, songs, manipulatives, etc. The tutoring will be in person and our home has plenty of parking in the private driveway.
