About the job

About who needs care: My dad is in the early stages of a degenerative disease, possibly ALS or related. Were still getting the diagnosis. At the moment, he mostly just needs someone to drive him to the places he needs to go; grocery store, hardware store, doctors appointments, etc. He can do most of his household tasks, but may need help lifting something heavy, or doing something that needs really fine motor skills. So, currently we mostly just need a driver, but hell probably need a bit more help over time. About the care needs: I think someone who does not need to chat or ask a TON of questions would work well with my dad. Someone good at driving, taking and discussing directions. Can lift up to 50lbs and help with general physical tasks. Bonus: someone who is interested in modern architecture, buildings and engineering. Maybe someone who could diagnose or work on household maintenance issues and knows their way around household tools. Someone who could help with computer or phone stuff would also be great! Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
