About the job

About who needs care: My mom has had a couple strokes, which have affected her mobility (slow, shuffling gait and balance issues), caused incontinence, and caused some mild cognitive decline, confusion, and challenges with planning and executive function. Her favorite thing to do is watch movies , but she is still very conversational, so we would love to find someone who can be a companion for her and perhaps help her discover some new or old hobbies, as well. We are looking for someone on weekend evenings right now to eat dinner with her and then to help her get int bed and get her new C-Pap on and adjusted. She is a night owl and usually goes to bed between 10:00 and 11:00. About the care needs: The ideal caregiver would: -be friendly, gentle, and encouraging -have experience working with seniors/dementia -a non-smoker -if able to work some overnights sometimes, that would be ideal Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
