About who needs care: Our dad had a stroke last summer. He has aphasia, is able to walk with a cane, but has no use of his left arm. He has an old laryngectomy, himself, but needs help with the more involved care. He is able to feed himself, but not prepare meals. He will do exercises and stretches when prompted, but does not think to do them himself. When we are not with him, he sits in front of the tv. It would be helpful to have someone spend some time with him, help with his home exercises and stretches, take him out for a short walk, assist with a shower/grooming, and set him up with a meal. We have been caring for him since his discharge from rehab in July and feel like another set of hands could improve his quality of life. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
