About who needs care: My mom is a 90-year-old woman, living with my sister. Mom no longer drives and is completely dependent on my sister for transportation to appointments and errands. Mom can perform simple household tasks, washing dishes, making coffee or a meal. Mom is a bit unstable on her feet so we are always reminding her to not do things that may put her in harms way. She does not always listen! Mom has a fairly consistent routine, up around 10 am, says her prayers, dressed and has breakfast. Seeking an aide to free up my sister but provide Mom with the support to do routine chores around the house, get to appointments and get out of the house for errands and possibly social activities. About the care needs: The caregiver should be patient, thoughtful, social and has a car. Mom can be persnickety but also is thoughtful and caring. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
