An ideal day would include companionship, lunch, afternoon meds and exercise. Dad likes to garden, get outside, go for walks, play cards and games, listen to music and watch TV. The caregiver should be able to do some light housekeeping and a little help with activities of daily living, which includes showering help. Dad will also need transportation to some appointments. He will need close observation during transfers to prevent falls. He has to use a walker or a wheelchair which limits his ability to carry things, etc. There is parking available in the driveway. We are in a rural neighborhood. We have a dog named Stella. She is a boxer mix and is a sweetheart, but she can be a little loud and a little anxious.
